WOYWW 392 - it's beginning to.....shhhhh..... not yet.....

Greetings fellow deskers!  If you're not already a desker, what are you waiting for?  Join in, do!  The details are here, at the Wonderful Mrs Dunnit's blog....

Short and sweet from me this week.

The sparkly star decoration hasn't actually progressed any further - nor has the project life album for that matter.  Where did the last 7 days go, that's what I want to know!!!

Mind you, we did spend the weekend doing various other bits and pieces, including decorating a certain house ready for a certain holiday....

So here's the desk.  It's in its usual cluttered state....

It's in the middle of some silver charm manufacturing.  I'd like to say they were all orders, but they're not - it's display stock.  One of which is also a piece for myself - the heart.  I made one for my sister and gifted it to her.  It's our Dad's handwriting, from a letter he wrote to me.  He wrote quite a lot, telling me about the dolls houses he was making.  Towards the end of his life he was making a particular dolls house for me, which he only half finished, but that is another tale for another time!  The silver charm will simply say "love, Dad x".  I will show you the finished item when it's done.

The other pieces are a very simple rectangle with a footprint (miniaturised), a teddy bear with a tiny handprint taken from a child, and the four-petalled flower actually has a hoofprint on it.  They're samples to show prospective customers what I can make, and so they can feel them in their hands rather than look at a big picture.  Much nicer!

There's a few more noses on my desk as well.  I will need to finish them this week and frame them.  A couple are for display, a couple for a gift, and one to keep for ourselves!

Oh?  You want to see the tree.....?

Ok then!

See you in a comments box near you - happy hopping!

Fun post, Morti! What an absolutely smashing idea to preserve your dad's handwriting in this way! I wish I had something like that of my dad's. I don't think I've still got any of his letters to me. I am fascinated by your noses - not sure what that's all about! When I first saw them, I thought they were stomas, but you'll have to forgive me for that, because these days that's how my mind tends to run...

Thank you for your comment on last week's WOYWW - I agree with you that it's good that we don't all like doing the same thing, and what fun it is seeing what everyone else does even if we wouldn't be seen dead doing it ourselves! Variety is definitely the spice of life, isn't it.

I've posted for this week as well! You can see what else I've done with my traced overlays.

Happy WOYWW,

Hi Morti, some lovely ideas there. Bound to make a difference when people can actually see the real thing. By the way, those XL lids for the RUB? You can buy just the lids on their site, you go to the page for the particular style of box with XL lid, then you can order that in the 'related items' drop down. Have a great week, hugs, Shaz #4 xx

Hi Morti, sorry didn't get around to replying last week but you'll realise why on today's post. We did the decorating too, a week late for me as but the tree will have to wait till next week. I've resorted to bought cards this year with added sparkle as I had a much more pressing experience this week..... BJ#20

Oh, the idea of using your dad's handwriting almost had me tearing up - what a wonderful thing to do. Is one for your sister?
Must say I have just about managed to wrap presents but luckily the other half likes Christmas and he did the tree - not quite as I would have done it but he did an admirable job. I am so thankful and so lucky to have him as he has been a brick for the past three months with me being ill. Love how you have decorated yours, it looks so magical.
Hugs, Neet 2 xx

Awww, using your dad's handwriting like that made me smile - what a lovely idea :-D. The noses are still the oddest thing on the blog this week but dogs are so special to their owners so I can see why they want them!

Busy, busy desk. Cute noses. You're ahead of me with the decorating. We don't usually do it until a few days before Christmas so technically I'm not behind lol

Happy WOYWW

Noses. On the faces of the ladies of the court of king caracatus.....now you've set me off! Lovely ideas for the charms, am sure they will really enable sales...I often say that ' samples sell' when anyone asks me about marketing. The Christmas tree looks absolutely splendid.

Hello Morti. Oh so sorry i am running very late at getting to you but oh my I so love the creations and how trully lovely. You should do a tutorial on how you got the handwriting on it of your dads. Your tree is beautiful so close to christmas now and the crunch is on for me. Thanks so much for visiting me Hugs ~Anne L#3
