WOYWW 606 - another Wednesday

Good morning my fellow lovely WOYWWers!  Welcome back to my blog and to another Wednesday's post.  For all the details head over to The Stamping Ground here where our lovely Julia will tell all....

So, first things first, a correction from last week.  As per Julia's comment, the movie canvas was indeed made up of the average colour from each scene, not each movie.  That was me being an idiot with a typo.  I've corrected the post now but thanks for pointing it out, Julia - much appreciated.

Therefore, without further ado, the movie was....

Drumroll please.....

BLADERUNNER

There weren't many guesses but Caro suggested Star Wars which was probably closest!

Yes, Mr Morti's favourite film is Bladerunner.  I'm not sure if he's amused or irked by the fact that it's the film most likely to send me to sleep watching it.  I've assured him that it's not because the film is boring, but Vangelis' music is so soothing... zzzzz

A fairly quick post from me this week as there's not actually much to share, same as last week - a little bit of movement on the stitching front and nothing else.

The desk is not looking any different - the cards have been split front from back, and the back recycled.  I've cut a couple of bits out, but am thinking about breaking out the die cutter and using proper shapes.

The HAED has had a further 100 stitches added.  I've worked out that if I managed 100 stitches every evening - and I mean EVERY evening - it will take me 5.5 years to complete.  Oh dear.  A 10-year project it is, then.  :(

The moose has also moved on with a further 200 stitches...

The numbers, by the way, are to do with Myth & Magic Stitch Wars, where we count our stitches and "buy" ingredients to make spells and attacks.

The most movement has been on the "wooden spoon".  I've started stitching bullion knots in the centre to make a rose but I'm not happy with the placement of the first two leaves, so may have to change it.

and that is that, for this week.  Back to normality, such as it is!

Keep well and happy hopping!

Well, I’d never have guessed at Bladerunner, I’d have thought of LOTR or Mad Max or something, lol! Your crocs stitch projects are coming on a treat but the thought of a ten year project would make me quake, I can’t even commit to a daily diary or anything. I’m such an instant gratification sort of gal *grin*. The wooden spoon is fantastic work but I do agree with you about the placement of the leaves, won’t it be tricky to unpick though?

Good lord. 10 years. Oh no, that will not do for me, please get a move on. Do nothing else if necessary! The spoon already looks fantastic, lovely shading with the old needle.
I love the artwork, as I said, I did not guess Bladerunner. Probably because I haven’t seen it! I didn’t mean to be bossy corrective, sorry if I was! I’m not sure I could come up with a favourite film. Favourite anything actually, too much of a commitment!!

Ah I should have guessed - but WHICH Bladerunner? Heck there must be about 15 different cuts of that, am I right?

You do make me laugh, counting stitches. But if you have a plan, and you stick to it, at least you know there is an end in sight LOL! Just don't forget to enjoy the journey...

Happy WOYWW, with a late start

Hi Morti. You have certainly been busy - it's not easy when the light isn't too good, is it! I think today in particular has been really difficult to do cross stitch - or is that my poor old eyes not up to the task...
Take care. God bless.

Well you do have some hard projects there. Is the Myth and Magic stitch wars an online game? My daughter plays one with dragons defending their castles. Have a great week. Angela `#10

Ok, a year would be daunting, but 10!!! Yikes! LOL Hey, at least you are stitching! LOL I'm not a stitcher, but I'd say that spoon is coming along nicely! I never really got into Bladerunner. Star Wars is right up my alley though!! Can't cut any zzzzzzz's on that movie! LOL Blessings for safety and health! Felicia #33

I think once you really get into the cross stitch design it will come together faster than you think though I have a small one that I started years ago and never finished so I have no room to speak really. Take care and have a lovely creative week, Angela x23x

That's quite a project to start but step by step (stitch by stitch) you'll get there. My former neigbour is a cross-stitcher and he (yes, a 'he') has worked on some of his framed pieces for 15 years... don't think of the 'finish', just enjoy the journey! Stay healthy and safe dear, hug from the Netherlands! Marit #31

Your stitchery projects are coming along fine, Morti! With any big project, every stitch you do is taking you closer to the end, and if you only do a few a day, it's amazing how quickly it actually grows. I'm finding this with my one or two crochet squares a day for my hubby's throw!

Happy belated WOYWW,

Ah now it would seem that my Hubby and son both like that film too and I TOTALLY understand your reaction to it, It was probably mine as well so I'm dissuaded to join them if they want to watch it or anything like it now - LOL.
Thanks for the visit BJ#6

Mmmm yes, Blade Runner, I've watched it once, bit disappointed with the ending, I don't know, wanting more things explained. Your stitching looks amazing, I can't sew for toffee but my mum loved doing all sorts, she has left me with the family tree to finish, its only chain stitch but it still hides in her sewing box. Sorry I'm sooo late, Happy WOYWW!? Stay Safe Keep Crafting! ((Lyn))#21
