Here we are at another WOYWW courtesy of the ever divine Julia.
Thank you all for your comments last week. I have to say that my eyesight isn’t what it once was and stitching and beading nowadays requires the use of some rather glam reading glasses in a fetching shade of purple. Naturally.
There’s a little bit of difference, I think, in the owl. Moving on slowly. Not helped by my fetching fur assistant getting in the way as usual.
Other than that I thought it was time to share the official craft desk. There’s a lot on it - and yet nothing of importance, and certainly nothing current. I’ve got a couple of cards to make soon so I fully expect a bit of desktop shuffling to go on. I might even do something with some beads that are skulking the desk and most definitely turn the fabric there into some masks.
On the car front, the old car was fixed on Monday and my back account is in quiet mourning. Just to clear something up though - she’s not Coming with us to Umbria next year. Once was enough for the poor dear. The car was ok, but oh my that was a long drive! Next year we’re flying, and going to rent a car once we land.
So that’s it for this week, plenty to be going on with!
Toodlepip!

Hey Morti, I'm loving your owl! I've just started a cross stitch after not doing any for about 15 years! It's quite big but I've had to order a hoop as I can't get on with my big frame now. I just hope it doesn't distort the stitches too much. Have a great week, Lisa-Jane #2
Wow, there are a lot of close colours in that cross stitch but it is going to be stunning when completed! I'd need super strength lenses and football pitch arc lights in order to do that chart. I'm glad the car is ok again but they're money pits aren't they? Mine is due a cam belt change and the pound signs are just whizzing round.
Lovely to see you on the desks again btw!!

I feel your pain concerning the car. Our car has been in the garage across the road for a week. There's an intermittent ignition problem. Likely to be quite expensive, methinks.
The owl will be spectacular though...
Lovely busy desk!
Happy woyww! Stay safe and keep well. Susan #15
Must have missed you last week - lovely work, but I don't think even a pair of fetching glasses would enable me to do tat these days! Well done. Happy WOYWW, stay safe, stay well, Cindy #11
Hi Di, there is indeed quite a collection of stuff on your desk. Your Fur assistant looks very comfy there, lol.Stay Safe, Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #7 X
Our bank account is sulking too as hubby car was due a new cam belt eek. Yes I think there comes a time in your life when dodgy cars and a holiday do not go together - ohh the stories i have !! Have a lovely week x Soojay #22
Well done on persevering with the work in progress. I love your busy desk and the plans you are making to use some of the contents. Happy WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. With love & God Bless, Caro xxx (#1)
glad to see some things (purple) never change! my eyesight wouldn't be up to stitching these days I don't think - used to do a lot of cross stitch back in the day! happy WOYWW helen 17
I'm loving your busy desk and your gorgeous kitty too. Have a lovely week and a very happy woyww, Angela x14x
Glad the car is working again Morti, pity about the hit to the bank balance though. The owl is coming along beautifully, despite the 'help' of your furry friend lol. Stay safe and happy belated WOYWW. Sarah #5
Hello, looks like your owl is coming along beautifully. The desk shuffle is something we all do on a daily basis. Stay safe.

Your fur assistant is adorable - I didn't know what you meant by the owl until a scrawled down! Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa #10
Your cross stitch owl is fabulous, Morti! It's quite a big project, isn't it. I'm sorry to be so late visiting, but my own latest cross stitch project has me absolutely addicted and everything else has taken a back seat so far this week! Like you, I have to resort to good light and magnification these days in order to see what I'm doing with fine work. I used to do 28 sts per inch without glasses in the old days but nowadays I struggle with 22 to the inch!!
Sorry to hear you've had car troubles. We've had trouble with ours this week too and it's had to have a new starter motor.
Happy belated WOYWW,
